You will notice that the states that where former solve holding states had high levels of support for Mitt Romney.
Now what's your point?
California was a slave state? Romney pulled even with Whites in New York and got nearly 60% in Pennsylvania. Seems like it goes deeper than the slave-holding past of states. Could it simply be familiarity breeds contempt and suspicion?

What were the geographies of the mostly White vote? Doesn't most of Pennsylvania's White pop live outside of the major urban areas?

Could it be you have nothing better to talk about and you are venting your frustration.?
No I'm just questioning this notion that Obama rode this wave of demographics to the White House. Seems he was able to capture the Whitest states in the union.
Why does this notion that you're "questioning" bother you? How does the fact that he captured states that have historically been extremely liberal support your challenge? WV, ND, SD, ID, and MT are all extremely white, and we know where they went.
The questions you should ask are these: How did non-white voters vote in this election? How does this match up to previous elections? How are America's demographics changing? Why am I so obsessed with this issue?
Earth to Ed: You start a whole new thread with a weird fallacy, so what good is it?
You believe the white liberal forum posters claim that whites are inherently racists?? Does this make any sense at all?
Maybe right-wingers are inherently racist - how about that?
You heap ridicule upon yourself daily with strange stuff like this - yet you continue. Why not check in with Fox for a more substantial topic.
BTW, the election is over and the black guy with the big ears won. Get over it.
You might want to check your "facts". Out of the six lowest black populated states in America, only Vermont voted Democrat.
Starting with the lowest black populated state.
Montana-1% black pop. 5401---voted Republican
Wyoming-1% black pop. 6024---voted Republican
Vermont-1% black pop. 6816---voted Democrat
N. Dakota-1% black pop. 9097--voted Republican
S. Dakota-1% black pop. 11,523--voted Republican
Idaho-1% black pop. 12,143---voted Republican
Liberal white guilt....... They all wished to be black watching Root's and again wished to be Japanese watching that movie Richard Chamberlain made long ago, Shōgun.

I'm sorry reading comprehension isn't part of your skill set but I said, actually Chuck Todd said, the states with highest proportion of whites voted for Obama. You do realize they're other minorities besides Blacks? With the exception of Vermont all of the states listed have relatively high Native American populations.
