The FBI agent she called has apparently been removed from the case because of his personal involvement with Kelley. Apparently he sent photos of himself with his shirt off to her. They had been "friends" before she started getting the messages from the "other woman". She must have some powerful mojo.

This is turning out to be a made for TV movie.

this case just gets weirder and weirder.

FBI banned agent from investigation into Petraeus affair over concerns that he grew 'obsessed' with a woman at the center of the case and 'sent her shirtless photos of himself'

This is what I think happened

Petraeus had and affair with the biographer. Tampa's best(Kelley) found out and saw an opportunity for money. She seduced him

Tampa's best, Trampest threaten Pertraeus

The threatening emails were sent by Petraeus. He thought he didn't leave a trace.

Tampa's best Trampest saw the emails and she saw dollar signs. She was like "Hmmm, how do I get the FBI involved? Let me use my most powerful weapon again" and since she has zero morals also seduced the shirtless idiot at the FBI to get the emails traced

The CIA convinced the author to take the blame because imagine the national scandal if he was portraited as a violent man. He could have been ruthless to those middle easterns too.

The end

Patreus should have known better. Imagine how much easier his life would have been had he just gone to his room and rubbed one out.
