Thats not actually what the word "Educated" means.

I think you want the word "Knowledgable" or possibly "experienced" or "skilled"

Someone that owns a business is more educated than someone that gets a worthless degree
While I do think that many business owners are intelligent, the survival rate facts probably disclose that more than 50% of small businesses fail during the first five years. So, someone could argue business owners aren't very intelligent after all. And I think you're overlooking the likely fact that a majority of businesses are owned by persons who attended college or university.

Or successful. Being an unemployed failed business owners is not much better than working at Starbucks.

Which degrees qualify as worthless, which types of small-business provide a valuable education?

You suggest that it's only Dems who disparage small-business owners; how many Republican Republican senators, congressman & Governors lack a university degree? How many of the republican primary candidates have run a small business? The two parties are essentially composed of the same types of people: highly educated and highly successful folks... MOSTLY.

Hope this isn't vexing to hear, but the average PHD is simply more intelligent than the average small business owner. Why is that a bad thing?

Why is it bad to be governed by only the most brilliant minds? Unfortunately this isn't actually the case because scientists tend to be passionate about their careers in science.

For the record, I wasn't particularly successful in College. Don't have a PHD or Masters.

I think the failure rate of new businesses approaches 90%. Some owners have degrees and some do not. Failure occurs because the owners got it wrong.

The undergraduate degree is what a high school degree used to be in terms of getting a foot in the door.

The minimum qualification, for fire fighters and police, is increasing a degree, in many areas.

Correct- their eyes get wide at potential but they do not now how to operate a business.
Many times its a guy who inherited money opr came into a bunch of money soomehow, quits their career and wants to open a business but has no idea how it works.
It is about ego.

It does not make them dumb in all aspects just dumb in not knowing how to run a business.

Earning a degree is about knowledge. Doing the work (i.e. running a business) is about application. It is quite possible that some business owners without degrees would run their businesses better than someone with a business degree could run their hypothetical business.
