Israel is an ally and a stable country, that has many enemies surrounding them. Maybe, you and your friends ought to spend a week in Israel and see just how they live and deal with suicide bombers and rockets hitting their homes. To stand down and not support Israel, is like saying Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood won.........I don't think this is an American way!!! Crazy Christians
I am a Christian too. I am only speaking of the "Crazy Christians", of which there are many. Just like there are crazy Jews, Muslims, Atheists, etc. I've never met a crazy Buddhist though haha.
And yes, I believe if The US leaves the entire region alone, we would remove ourselves from the equation and all the blowback that comes with it. I'm sorry, but how many years are you willing to have our service men and women die in this region?
Israel is one of the most technologically advanced countries in the World, with an excellent military and oh yeah, over 300 nukes. Do I feel empathy for Israelis and Palestinians? Yes I do, but that part of the world has ALWAYS BEEN UNSTABLE. The United States is a wonderful, safe country for Jews and Muslims alike and my ONLY concern is preserving this ideal.
We have tried being the World Police for decades. It's time to give it up.

BTW, as I've pointed out many times, the PLO was founded by Marxists, not practicing Muslims. You can take a look at the PLO Charter, which is steeped in nationalist and Marxist language and mentions Islam zero times.

They are not our ally; we have no defense treaty with them, we simply choose to act as though we do.
Their enemies are ones they made by invading Palestine and dispossessing the inhabitants under credible threat of massacre.

Why stop there? Why not just kill everyone? Why not just detonate a few ICBMs scattered around the whole region? That would be a real sign of Godliness.
