The Chinese. They've been working in the background counting what was once our money for years thanks to the willingness of the American public to sell-out at the checkout counter.
[black Friday, kids, is just around the corner...get in line like sheep]
Well, a bankrupt USA or a USA in tailspin, especially the kind that would have to drastically devalue its currency would be pretty disastrous for China since we are their largest trading partner (which is partially responsible for why their growth has slowed along with growing evidence that some of that growth was from speculative construction with very little real value) and they are the largest foreign owners of our debt (if the US gets hyperinflation this means that all the saving up they did with the services they rendered and the goods they manufactured and shipped to us becomes almost worthless and unusable). What's more, the CCP is in power on the promise of economic prosperity and not out of a particularly strong societal fabric of taking care of each other or great love to the ruling class--so an economic disaster like the US tailspinning is going to have some seriously terrible ramifications for China in general and the CCP in particular.
Remember when Romney ran an ad attacking for Obama loosening welfare requirements the Left screamed foul?
Quote:
The Welfare Indicators Act of 1994 directed the Secretary of Health and Human Services to study the most useful statistics for tracking and predicting dependence on three means-tested cash and nutritional assistance programs: Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Food Stamps, and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Since then, ASPE has been producing these reports:
I think we should acknowledge that some welfare programs in the past were not well designed and in some cases did encourage dependency.… As somebody who worked in low-income neighborhoods, I’ve seen it where people weren’t encouraged to work, weren’t encouraged to upgrade their skills, were just getting a check, and over time their motivation started to diminish. And I think even if you’re progressive you’ve got to acknowledge that some of these things have not been well designed.
There are at least 4 unemployed people for each open position. How does the article deal with that? If the US offered some sort of tapered welfare system, I'd say your guy has a point, but until then... the entire article is making moot points.
Its basically adotping to the sytem the Op listed.Automatiom;illegals iimartation and eve poeople who work the black employment market whle drawing. N time the number needed shrinks as many have n skill that is needed. today is was relased that US dropped for number three to five in manufacturing.Jobs are created by people not just people depoendent o toehr to do it.Too mnay depenbdent on too few soes work in the end.
For one, there is a surplus of labor, not just in the US, but around the world. Basically there are more people than jobs.
Second, there isn't much of an incentive for people to go off of welfare. Sure, there are those that milk the system. There are also those people that have been forced to use welfare. But, if your choice is work a job or two where you can barely survive or live off the government and at least have the basics taken care of what are you going to do?
If UI pays the same or better than a job, you would expect employers to offer something to sweeten the deal. Benefits and wages have been declining for some time, so it seems things are moving in the opposite direction. Regardless, government intervention is skewing and manipulating the free market as usual. Guess the people like it that way.

Someone honestly believes that a person would stay on unemployment for $32.00 more every two weeks?
Seriously?
