its truly extrordinary how when it comes to this issue , all political sides come together as one to profess their deep devotion to the state of israel , pledging undieing devotion to israel appears to be a rite of passage for every american politican or public personality of any kind

my question is this , is their any quater in the usa where an alternative view towards this global issue exists

do american realise how at odds they are with the rest of the world when it comes to this matter

The territory of Israel is the beachhead of last resort should it become necessary to militarily secure the world's still least expensive cache of oil, and we ALL love to drive our SUVs and strut our Prius's in the suburbs, with our single-family, two-car garage, 3,000 sq.ft., centrally air-conditioned/heated homes, Moderator cut: language be damned!

You know, the Roman Empire supported the Jews during the period of rivalry in the eastern Mediterranean with the successor Hellenistic kingdoms of Alexander the Great. But when they achieved Pax Romana, the gig was up.

Good Luck!

It's religious. For the American breed of Christianity the first step to bring on the end of the world is war in Jerusalem, which means they have to support Israel in provoking that war. It's not entirely clear why they think the end of the world is desirable, but desire it they do.

It is not the American PEOPLE, irish bob. It is our politicans, whose pockets are lined by Israelis. The vast majority of the American PEOPLE don't care about Israel and would like to see it pick its own fights and pay for its own battles.

The Rapture Factor - Beliefnet.com
That's the red-herring crap answer.

The real answer is OIL.

When the oil dries up, so will the support for Israel, and those who believe in the red-herring crap answer will be left with their Moderator cut: language in their hands.

irish_bob, most Americans don't know that the milk in their refrigerators comes from cows, let alone where the gas in their cars comes from. They just turn the key, and the car goes on, flip the switch and the lights go on.

The rest is entertainment because that's easier, bread and circus, money illusion, works most of the time.

all one needs to do is peruse their local and friendly c-d General Forum/Politics and Other Contoversies thread to discover the deep devotion to the State of Israel by Americans. According to the poll I'd say we are neck and neck which by conventional standards is a far cry from deep devotion.

Concerning Americans realising how at odds they are with the rest of the world when it comes to this matter, I'd say we are pretty much at odds with ourselves when it comes to this matter.

So, irish_bob lay down that one brush you have there and refrain from tarring the entire American population.

Best regards, sincerely

Israel will eventually provoke one huge war that will kill thousands of Americans. Israel is preparing for something. War games, assassinations, well trained and stockpiled military, they ARE going to provoke one hellish war sooner or later it is just a matter of time. More than likely by bombing the Moderator cut: language out of Iran who are no Iraq, they will unleash a horrible response.

It is a religious and economic thing.

Religious support from certain sects of Christians here, and this religious support is hidden through ridiculous and illogical foreign policies towards Israel.

Economics because it supports the military-industrial complex and helps stability for our oil supply. In regards to the former, the US sends billions in aid to the region, including military sales. Just look at Egypt, they have over 1000 M1 tanks; the US helps military sales by creating a cold war type build up in the area. For the latter; regimes in the area use Israel for an excuse for all their ills, the uneducated society does not concern themselves with human rights and impoverished living conditions, this allows the regimes to suppress their citizens, thus providing stability for the oil supply. Regimes like Israel despite the rhetoric because it is a great deflector for real issues facing those countries.

A poll of 135 voters, lol

I honestly never met one person who supports Israel in their conflicts, majority of them think we should just let Israel fight their own battle. and only a few people are clueless about whats going on over there.
