Before the election, all we heard from the media was what an excellent job Obama did, how he had everything in control, this was the best handling of a storm ever, it was all very quickly taken care of.
Now that the election is over, some of the truth can come out.
Homeowners are finding homes are damaged during Hurricane Sandy are being ticked for "failure to maintain" the property? Big city government is out of control. Try that crap in the west and the "ticketers" may be treated the same as other useless pests.

I suppose NYC residents are fine with it. If the government can tell them what to eat and drink, this isn't much of a stretch.

I guess you would rather have "government" working over time for the inspectors to generate a different letter for each property?

Maybe the government could be actually doing something to, oh, help people who's property has been damaged or destroyed by the storm, rather than writing tickets? Or do you think the government's only purpose is to run around citing people that have lost their homes?

Yes, everyone of us is an individual. We get bunched in groups and forgotten about.
but governments are anti-social and destructive to a cooperative society
Karl Marx did suggest that, but it is an institution that a society chooses to use, because the alternative is not conducive to general welfare. Of course, that also depends on how the institution is designed but to assume that there can be a great society without government as an institution to manage it, well, I'm sure you'd be living in one.
