---------------------------------- In a 28-page ruling, U.S. District Judge Joe Heaton denied a request by Hobby Lobby to prevent the government from enforcing portions of the health care law mandating insurance coverage for contraceptives the company's Christian owners consider objectionable.
In his ruling denying Hobby Lobby's request for an injunction, Heaton said that while churches and other religious organizations have been granted constitutional protection from the birth-control provisions, "Hobby Lobby and Mardel are not religious organizations."

Let me get this straight.
The Catholic church forbids, not only abortions, but any form of birth control other than the rhythm method. No condoms, no pills, no nuttin.
This judge says that, while religious GROUPS are covered under the 1st amendment's ban on govt mandating or forbidding religious practices, religious INDIVIDUALS are not covered???
I'm trying and trying to find where it says in the 1A, that individuals are not covered. Haven't had any luck yet.

you have a right to worship which means pray in what ever manner you want but that where your freedom of religion ends. If you practice any other part of your religion that doesn't involve worship we have the right to send you to Siberia.
Here we see the common leftist misconception about employment being for the benefit of the employees.
If he shuts down his business he is not "punishing" his employees.
He pays his employees for their labor in the business. If he no longer runs the business, he longer requires their labor. That's it. There's no "punishment" involved.
I know leftists just love to be on their moral high horse, but there is no good versus evil here, no oppression, and no punishment. Employees get paid to do a job. If the terms of the employment contract include providing the employee with insurance, then that's fine. But the employees do not "deserve" insurance. Insurance is merely one form of compensation for labor. Nothing more.

That's their excuse, and there are fines for doing so, not to mention the bad publicity. We have not heard from Papa John's CEO recently, have we?

So you have more employed but each one is working less hours. Business just reacted to the IRS ruling.
Even Walmart came out with changes based on the IRS ruling.
The government defining full time as 30 hours is a precedent.
Companies did what they had to in order to maintain their part time staffing...lower hours and hire on more.

LOL, "even" Walmart. Especially Walmart is more like it. Walmart doesn't have that many employees working 30 hr/wk now. The difference will hardly be noticeable. There are ways around every law. There is no way to write a law to fix that.

Actually Walmart upped the hours required to get insurance.
They also dropped some of their cheaper plans because they didn't meet the Fed requirements.
If anything, less Walmart workers will be insured now by Walmart and will turn to Uncle Sam for coverage under Obamacare or the expanded medicaid programs.
