Ain't that the truth? Amazing post and 100% spot on!
Indeed the truth.
When you examine the 50s vs. today, this is one conclusion(of many) that can be surmised from this: The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Her testimony before a Senate Judiciary subcommittee investigating juvenile delinquency clashed with that of Harry J. Anslinger, Commissioner of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics. He testified yesterday that New York youths under 21 years old, known by police to be users, numbered only 748 for 1952. His figure for the entire country came to 3,616 for 1952.
the hotlinked cartoon feeds the stereotype you want to be true, so of course you 'get it.'
yet my question still went unanswered.
why was 'take back America' a fine and good thing when obama was involved, but a horrific, 'racist' thing mere years later?
seems odd.
If I remember correctly "Take Back America" was about taking America back from extremists who wanted to pervert the essence of our nation. The Nov. 21, 1954 show featured the Anderson family: Jim and Margaret and their three children, Betty, Bud and Kathy.
In the program, the family decided to forgo a Thanksgiving meal because of scheduling conflicts. But in the end, the parents and children decide that sitting down to a Thanksgiving meal together is the best way to celebrate.
I never knew anyone who had a perfect family like this. Tv shows are not real life. In real life Robert Young was an alcoholic

and if i remember correctly - and i do - this was exactly the same argument given 3-4 short years later. but suddenly that argument was abominable and 'racist'
