As for you relative "faking" disability, I find that next to impossible to believe. I have personal friends who work as judges for the agency which determines whether or not an applicant gets SSDI, and I promise you it's not an easy or simple process, plus the people who work as judges are extremely well trained and very well educated. Maybe whatever state you're claiming gave out these benefits so easily should consider looking at THEIR EMPLOYEES and why those employees are not reporting such suspicious cases.
AGAIN, you are cite ONLY ONE CASE. WHERE are the stats on the number of people who are living on welfare their entire lives and why that is happening? Lobby your state to start keeping up with such cases. It could very easily be tracked by probably a very simple computer program.
Next thought. WHY DIDN'T YOU REPORT THESE PEOPLE? If you find it so offensive and you disapprove of people breaking the law, why did you just ignore it? Surely there is a way to report people anonymously. Of course, I guess if you did that, then you and your husband might possibly have to help these people.

I wasn't taking about SSDI, I was taking about short-term disablility, hence the fact that he gets another job eventually
As for reporting it, I have, others have, nothing's done.
i'v known others who have had boyfriends living with them, not on the lease, again, I've reported them as have others nothings done.
The problem is, there ARE scammers out there...maybe just a few here and there, but unfortunately, those scammers give anyone else who gets assistance a bad name.
