Thank you, that is it. Here is an article from the son about his father---
After World War II, the spread of communism began gobbling up Eastern Europe. This presented Wilkerson with a formidable opportunity. In his maniacal quest to annihilate the studio owners, he realized that the most effective retaliation was to destroy their talent. In the wake of this emerging hysteria surrounding communism, the easiest way to crush the studio owners was to simply call their actors, writers and directors communists. Unfortunately, they would become the collateral damage of history. Apart from being charged with contempt, for refusing to name names, none of these individuals committed any crimes.
I studied the persecution of American leftists during the late 1940's/1950's by the American right, but don't recall this person (I saw that it was mentioned on the national news). I always wondered why Hollywood caved in to craven scum like McCarthy, Roy Cohn, etc.
Obviously you are completely clueless. It was the House Committee on Un-American Activities that persecuted communists in the 1950s, and the House was controlled by Democrats, not Republicans. Senator Joseph McCarthy had absolutely nothing to do with the Democrat controlled House.
Nice try at revisionist history, but it was your fellow Democrats who persecuted the communists in Hollywood and elsewhere, not Republicans.

Art Bell started the show and got it aired on 450 radio markets, then through a bunch of personal problems he had to walk away, he made the show interesting, something subsequent hosts have failed to do.
CC is so boring these days this Liberal on the morning drive would rather listen to the Jerry Doyle show thats on between 4-5am
Its a great show. Noory doesn't believe everything his guests or callers talk about( no sane person would) but he has a very open mind. He researches many areas that some would dismiss without bothering about and lets people form their own opinions.
I roll my eyes on some of the topics and guests( crop cricles, chem trails, time travel, remote viewing, people who claim detailed contact with alien civilizations) but others I find very interesting. General alien encounters, UFO sightings, ghosts, the paranormal, most conspiracy theories. And they do discuss politics and economics and present a clearer discussion than what you'd get on cable.
Its a hugely popular show, listen in sometime you may grow to like it.
I think Bruce Williams had more stations carrying before Art Bell became popular. And of course, Larry King But before syndicated talk exploded you had local stations who had their own late nite hosts.

I turn to another station when they get into the paranormal and weird topics. If they are talking about current, interesting, down to earth topics I listen like the blacklisting. I don't think most of us really know the whole story and now this book comes out about the guy who instigated a lot of it for revenge. I wonder what those in Hollywood think about it.
I haven't listened to Coast 2 Coast ever since Snoory turned the show into crap.
