Unions were critical before we had labor laws. Now that labor laws have come into play, unions have little place in the labor market.

There might be labor laws, but I also feel like some people could violate those laws.

Anyone can violate any law, that is why we need strict enforcement. I find it troubling when people ask for more laws on top of the ones that we do not currently bother to enforce.

Actually, labor laws were never needed. The free market is what is most responsible for working conditions today.

Well, in all fairness, store management staff can be a decent career. Some of the big box stores have managers that make $100k+. You don't see them threatening to walk out on their jobs though because they are adding value to the business and being rewarded for it.

To hell with Walmart and their landfill junk from China that is nothing but garbage. Why would you work and spend your hard earned money on stuff that you don't need and if you do it is of such low quality that you are NOT getting your money's worth...screw the big box store...If I want a screw to fix something- I go to my local hardware store- the guy gives me what I need and I am home in five minutes...Walmart are users of the herd...they are NOT your friends.

This is the thing. We are in the era of conglomerations. There are hardly anymore local hardware stores where I live. If there is one, it's usually more expensive. People want things cheap these days. And alot of things are made in China. Much fewer things are manufactured in the USA these days.
