I'm not a big Obama guy, but why should he thank god in his Thanksgiving address? And, if he does, how does that make the speech any more effective? How is it even relevant?
The idea of god and religion is a somewhat divisive concept here in the US, and I think a Thanksgiving free of any sort of White House-sponsored religious addresses would be a good thing.
