I don't think it will be a race thing, but I've said on a previous thread that I wouldn't be surprised to see new taxes proposed that target the savings and wealth of the wealthy, whatever "wealthy" ends up being defined as. All I know is that I try my best to save as much as I can for retirement, but I'm not even 100% sure that things like the tax benefits of my ROTH IRA will be preserved in the future.

You are also not guaranteed to live until you reach "retirement." NONE OF US ARE GUARANTEED THAT WE WILL EVEN LIVE UNTIL NEXT WEEK. Where did people get this idea that they can live to a ripe old age if they just "save money".....where did they get the idea that there is in fact any absolute security in this life?

No. I think they'll be coming after their mobility scooters, old LP's and maybe VHS tapes.
