Wow, a sign saying...thank god for sept 11. What's that all about. Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing but it has consequences. I would have wanted to punch that guy out and then probably get arrested. I'm thinking it might be worth it though. That is my freedom of speech
No, my point was there should be NO hate speech signs!
Here's the problem with that, if we ask one thousand people what their definition of hate speech is you're going to get one thousand different answers. So who gets to decide? A government bureaucrat? Me? You?
Limiting free speech no matter how disgusting it may be is a very slippery slope.
Freedom of Speech should be limited. We need blashphemy law, and no hate speech!
Absolutely not. Blashphemy laws are repugnant to the Constitution and freedom generally. Around the world they are most often implemented in such a way that they are used as tool to squash religious dissent from atheists and minority religions alike.
