It is about, as it alway is with you, You wanting to control all actions of others who may disagree with you.

Of course leving it up to an individual as to whether or not to use any service provided on this (day of rest) should not, according to you, be left up to that individual. According to the inference of your post, all people are just to weak to decide for themselves so you want a national law to support your point of view.

Do you happen to remember or have read about Prohitition? How did that work out for you?

Blue laws have always been ruled constitutional according to the supreme court due to secular reasons.

I know a town that has blue laws on Saturday. It's about one day of rest, regardless the day of the week.
29 days to go!

Happy Holidays !!

no its wrong to have them close

I dont want to be inconvenienced by them being closed on sunday, or early wednesday for bible study

I think we should mandate ALL establishments be open 24/7

prohibition of anykind is wrong...we want FREEDOM

We should have stores and such closed on Sabbath, which is not Sunday.

It's very sad seeing many people against a day of rest. Capitalism and money have ruined and brainwashed many people in this country. Despite it, 50 million Americans live under poverty. No wonder why Americans live less socialized life because of their overworking habit.

Look at Scandinavian and Western European countries - they live longer than us, travels much more than us around the world, gets weeks and weeks of paid vacation, live longer, etc.

Yes they do. They have far higher quality of living. They are also extremely liberal, and extremely secular. And before you bring up the nonsense of Norway having a State-Church, only 4% of Norwegians attend church regularly, and only 20% consider religion an important part of their lives.

Western Europe and Scandinavia are the very antithesis of what you want in this country. They do not advocate any theocratic values whatsoever.

In addition to the post above mine here, I would like to point out that there is absolutely NO reason you cannot declare that Sunday, or whatever day you so choose, is YOUR day of rest. Why does the government have to get involved in a personal decision?

As I & other posters have already stated (but you conveniently ignored), the "day of rest" doesn't have to be on a Sunday. I'm having a day of rest right now, in fact, and it's Monday!! Whoa, what a concept. I generally get 2-3 days off weekly, so save your sympathy for somebody else.

So you want to reduce the number of hours available for employees to earn wages, and you want to reduce the number of hours a business can be open in order to serve (and profit from) their customers?

Yeah, that should do wonders for those that are hurting for more money.
