Is the United States capable of mistakes? Yep

Should we break the union up? Nope, and most Americans don't think secession is a good idea. Just because the nuts of different states got together, doesn't mean its a majority of Americans.

Look what ballot initiatives on California ballots did? All you needed was 500 idiots to sign a paper without any idea of the reprecussions of the signature. And BTW, secession isn't conducted by signature.

How do you know that most Americans don't think secession is a good idea. Did they do a poll on this? Link please. Just because more people didn't sign doesn't mean they don't think it's a good idea. Just asking.

The devil, and the reason we're all screaming at each other, is in the details.
I would suspect a clear majority of the population will not deal with either issue.

Most people believe in little germane to how we are governed.

It is only the idealist who believe the population actually has views.

And they really don't. They will react and sharply to events and conditions...but no they don't have views.

Because it hasn't been done since 1861
