Seven Key Republicans Who Have Abandoned Norquist’s Tax Pledge | TPMDC

Coming to their senses About time!

Saxby Chambliss

Tom Coburn

Lindsey Graham

Peter King

John McCain

Jeff Flake

Alan Simpson

The former Wyoming senator co-chaired the White House fiscal commission which proposed trillions of dollars in new taxes — and earned accolades from the Beltway establishment. He has fervently attacked Republicans for their allegiance to Norquist’s pledge.

“For heaven’s sake, you have Grover Norquist wandering the earth in his white robes saying that if you raise taxes one penny, he’ll defeat you,” he told CNN back in May. “He can’t murder you. He can’t burn your house. The only thing he can do to you, as an elected official, is defeat you for reelection. And if that means more to you than your country when we need patriots to come out in a situation when we’re in extremity, you shouldn’t even be in Congress.”

All scum bags and I know at least 2 of them are going to be up against primary opponents in 2014....maybe I should help get a movement started to take them all out and any others that want to raise taxes on us.

Glad to see some have the courage to break free from the Norquist shackles. They know the world is watching. Good for them.

Chambliss has now disavowed his previous defiance, and is apparently back in the Norquist fold.

Maybe, just maybe because of the election shellacking the GOP establishment is finally realizing that it isn't going to pay to be seen as the party of obstructionism, birtherism and other such nonsense as Bobby Jindal so eloquently put it: The GOP 'Should stop being the stupid party'.

Let the Democrats have whatever they want for the next 4 years so the whole country can look like California or Illinois.
