In Silicon Valley, Technology Talent Gap Threatens G.O.P. Campaigns - NYTimes.com

Food for thought for you righties who continue to believe that only unemployed Obamaphone-receiving welfare mommas supported Obama.
Are we supposed to be surprised that people living in one of the most Liberal parts of the country and work for openly Liberal companies, are more likely to support Obama? Most tech companies, which are almost exclusively headquartered in Liberal Silicon Valley, are Liberal entities -- Google, Apple, Amazon, Sun, Adobe, etc. are all companies that identify as left-wing and contribute overwhelmingly to Democrats.

It's also not surprising that tech and scientific fields attract more talent from the left while business fields attract people from the right. It's all relevant to right and left-wing ideologies.

This... If you want to talk about dumb people, go look at some of the socially regressive religious types in south-eastern states who are proud to not vote with their brains. And they overwhelmingly vote Republican. I read things they write on here, and I'm regularly amused and amazed by the stupidity on display.

But the truth beyond a particular region of the nation is that there are smart and dumb people on both sides.

Reality is a hard thing to bare. Truth is something to cold for some to embrace. The left love fantasy to the point that warping reality and truth and that "feelings" are all important- That emotion can be applied to logic. In the alternative the right are pragmatic and cruel..at least they know one thing about themselves...That money is more important than love...and they play the game well. In this world it is pretty hard to sustain on love. No money - no funny.

I just can't get over the one great flaw in perception that the left has..and it goes back to redefinition of gender. All we have in this world is our own personal identity. When you get into the area where the fog of liberalism is so thick that a man can not be called a man...nor can a woman keep the role of woman secure..That people of the same sex can pretend to be another sex than...THAT is the beginning of the ultimate break down of reality.

It might not seem important to liberal freedom fighters...but what is the point of fighting to be something you are not? That encapsulates the liberal mentality..We can NOT be what we are NOT...We can only be who we are.

^^ Speaking of a "breakdown in reality" (...LOL)!

Dunno there's any direct correlation between being ''smart'', and being ''rich''... although it's a safe bet that any party which chronically attacks teachers, professors, universities, public education, ''educated elites'' (and Big Bird!), probably ain't gonna attract much of the former.

Based on the people I personally know working at Google and Apple, the odds are highly in favor of them not having degrees at all, being self taught and pulled themselves up by their boot straps.

Conservatives care about one thing - money and crony-capitalism to get it. Corporate welfare which is much more expensive for taxpayers - just wonderful!

That makes you a hypocrite.
If you want to solve that issue write to your congress-critter and have them amend the constitution to ban both in participating. Simple as that.
Levelled the playing field? What bubble are you in, BJ?
* Union contributions have always paled in comparison to Wall Street and the super-wealthy repub base.
* Citizens United was enacted by your own activist right-wing fascist judges appointed for purposes like that.
* That old broken record - the poor corporate repubs previously victimized by those big bad unions.

Do individual Democrats value hard-work and family? Of course. It's the party's platform that does not.
Keep parroting those dumb talking points - Limbaugh is laughing at you as you do it.

My husband is a software engineer and an Independent, and he voted for Romney due to Obama's poor record over the past 4 years. And he said at his office there was much more support for Romney this year than Obama. Four years ago it was pretty equal.
Why is hubby not concerned about Congress over the last 4 years?

Yeah, repubs are sooo innocent.
Food Stamps Growth Has Bipartisan Roots | Cato @ Liberty

And your repub heroes in congress continue to kill jobs bills. How pathetic it is to just parrot, over and over, conservative media. Have you nothing else?
