I would much prefer being screwed by a porn star than a banker. Unfortunately the latter is far likelier than the former. Alas.

I believe the problem some people have with female sex stars is they now make enough money to be independent of men. Free women are a threat to patriarchic males that want to keep sexually active women under their control.

I am amused by the fact that "free expression" via a movie makes paid for sex legal in the porn industry but paid for sex by and for individuals is considered illegal prostitution. Because of the illegality of prostitution the women working the trade are heavily controlled by their pimps. I think prostitution, as well as most illegal drugs, should be legalized and just considered another part of commerce.

Some years back I came across a news item regarding an unintended consequence of Germany's legalization of prostitution (which alas is now eluding me on Google, sorry).

The issue was an unemployed woman, mother of several children, who had applied for government aid. The rules said that recipients were required to take a job if the government job-center could find her one she was qualified for. They did - in a brothel. The officials involved took the position that the rules were the rules, she was qualified for the work, which as a consequence of legalization was now treated as any other form of legitimate employment, she had received the aid, she had agreed to the terms, and therefore she had to do it. She of course intended to take every step, including an appeal to Germany's constitutional court, to escape. Unfortunately, I never found a follow-up article to learn what happened.

Edit: found it on Snopes: my recollection was reasonably accurate as far as the details, but read for Snopes' qualifications.

That's all bull. Utter nonsense.

I don't care much for pornography, as it does nothing for me personally. But porn watchers are as normal as anyone else. I don't get it with you folks that are into sexual repression.

What does this have to do with the topic?

The porn stars self esteem is what is being discussed. If you want to rant about the viewer's responses, start another thread.

The porn industry is big biz these days, and has been for a long time. I think that the porn actors who have long careers must have a ton of self confidence. Those who give it a try and quit after a couple of jobs do too, and they just don't like the career choice, so they quit.
