The left is the new right...so much for walking the walk and the whole benevolent socialist thing. It is much like the communist leaders in the old Soviet Union..they preached monetary equality but all had luxury get aways.
Most of my friends are liberal. Most of them take vacations. Socialism is not communism and it can co-exist with capitalism. Taking issue with income inequality does not mean that we believe that everyone should be paid the same thing from the CEO to the janitor. Believing that there should be a minimum wage (because full time workers should be able to afford food and shelter) does not mean that we believe that a fast food worker should make $100000 a year or that a doctor should make $7/hour. Not wanting to get rid of all government programs and not hating every poor person and blaming them for all things evil does not mean that we hate the wealthy. Do you guys read from a script?
If Romney had won he'd be taking his entire clan to the Cayman Islands on the tax payer's dollar. I wonder how that would compare in price to a Hawaiian vacation.

The truth is NO PRESIDENT is ever REALLY "on vacation" - no matter where they may be. It's not that kind of job.

That $1.4 Billion is not a VACATION TRAVEL TOTAL ... it is the TOTAL COST OF EVERYTHING related to the president, which includes the salaries of staff, and everything else, and it is for the ENTIRE YEAR ... not just the days Obama was on vacation.

That is not true. He did not grow up wealthy. He did not inherit wealth.
He worked to get where he is now. I thought that was the supreme mantra of the conservatives, that people should work hard and smart if they want to be rich.

I guess the same could be said of the Wall Street stock traders, bankers, investment persons, politicians, used car salesman, etc.
What about people who just work a job. They don't hire anyone, but can become wealthy. Quite a few where I work experienced this delightful event when their stock shares were sold. Overnight millionaires. They didn't create any jobs...
So, is the conservative mantra now "your hard work and smarts only count if you start a business and hire people"?

I find it kind of sad. Its like you really don't care about anything but slamming the politician you don't agree with. I mean every president gets this benefit. every president traveled. He can't fly commercial.
While the economy goes off the fiscal cliff & talks of raising taxes, Obama will be in Hawaii.
