Show me a FF establishment in NYC where everybody makes $15.00 an hour, and I'll show you a FF establishment which had to shut its doors, or charge $20.00 for a Big Mac, in which case they'd STILL go out of business.
I know, right!? How can the CEO of a company expect to make a record amount of money if he pays his workers more than minimum wage!? Let's not even talk about a living wage!
I think they have a good case. Try surviving in NYC on $8.90 an hour, the median wage for food service or food preparation worker in New York City.
Or this lady: "Pamela Waldron, who after eight years at KFC makes $7.75 an hour, which typically amounts to around $10,000 a year. "
The article makes a good point that these jobs are no longer just for teenagers or students, but now include all kinds of people who have lost their jobs.
Maybe you should be asking why liberal states are so expensive to live in....
Or why live in a region where your potential income cannot support you. I know of many places in this country where two people working at McDs or one parent at McDs and recieveing aid can live OK. If labor can demand whatever it sees fit to live then we are funked.
