What share do they pay today? Only 60% of gasoline taxes goes toward roads.

This is the last time i'm posting this....

Northeastern High Speed / Intercity Network
Size : 2,470 Mi+
Lines : 7 trunk lines + with 12 Feeders
Stations : 190+ (Feeders factored in)

Projected Ridership : 127 Million a year or 350,000 daily (Feeders factored in)
Top Speed on Trunk lines : 220mph (350Km/h)
Top Speed on Secondary / Feeder lines : 125mph (201Km/h)
Population Served by 2050 : 80.3 Million
Cost : 150 Billion $ (Upgrades to the Exisiting Networked added in , so 50/50)
Projected Revenue by 2035 : 4.5 Billion

The Upgrades to the current system and the new feeder lines will cost : 54 Billion , the New NEC will cost 50 billion and Private Proposals 45-50 Billion.... The Way this will be funded is likely , 50% Federal , 30% State and 20% Private at least for the public plans...

Thats over 700 miles...Not HSR territory....HSR is best for distances between 200-500 miles....anything longer is better for flying...
