He ran on raising taxes on the wealthy and trimming spending. The GOP ran on more tax cuts and massive spending cuts. The people spoke.

Obama has made his opening offer.

The ball is in Boehner's court.

No black ass kissing required.

Maybe it's time to call Obama's bluff and just go over the fiscal cliff. Maybe the Republicans should do what Obama did when an popular vote came to his desk in Illinois,....just vote "present".....

Let the democrat party assume total responsiblity for this failed economic situation. After four years it's time for the Obama buffoons to start taking responsiblity for their failures, or drag their own sorry asses out of the financial ditch by themselves. The tax increases on the wealth are simply a ruse by the liberals. You can't reduce the deficit without cutting spending, and the democrats in the senate and house are dead-set against even trying to cut the deficit.

Obama had about as much of a mandate as Bush had to move people into a private retirement account and away from SS.

The truth is neither has/had a mandate and democrats are playing politics as usual with their constant concretely moving goal post or in their words their moving motion picture.

You mean let Democrats take responsibility for the deal where Boehner and the GOP got "98%" of what they wanted? Too funny.

You folks are hilarious.

You're arguing over how many branches you want to hit on the way down the ugly tree before you hit the ground at terminal velocity.

If this wasn't my country too I would sit back and laugh at you all but instead I'm simply weeping for the future.

What a great plan. Oh... except for this:

Should negotiations break down to avoid the $500 billion rash of automatic tax hikes and spending cuts, 53 percent are inclined to blame Republicans in Congress while 29 percent single out Obama.
