I once knew the CEO of a large trucking company that had administered hundreds if not thousands of these 'lie detector' test on prospective employees back in the day. One of the questions on the test was "do you believe in God"? For every person that answered "no' the machine interpreted that answer was a lie.
I had to do a few way back when..early 80's if I recall.
They sent you to the police dept for the lie detector test and fingerprints.

Seems fair, at least gives ex-offenders, most of whom are non violent offenders a shot to get their foot in the door and make a positive impression before their record is exposed. New ways need to be saught to lower the recidivism rate. I don't see anything wrong with this if the employer can still run a background before making an offer.

Those are genuine concerns, but don't worry.....they'll just screen applicants using before interviewing...those with a criminal history won't even be called.

An arrest is not a conviction. Nonetheless, dozens of arrests demonstrates a pattern.

A substantial portion of arrests and convictions are drug related. It's an equal opportunity epidemic.
The nations with the least drug problems trend zero tolerance. When one faces the certain consequence of a firing squad or death by hanging, one is more likely to avoid drugs and people who use them.
