I agree, it shouldn't be a big deal which is why the federal government just needs to make it legal in every state so we can move on with our lives and get to bigger issues and let those in love get married regardless of their sexual orientation.
By what Constitutional authority would they do such a thing?
And I'll join the others in asking, how can you (20Years) tell the ratio of straight vs gay people at their wedding? I only even see a handful of faces in the pews, and couldn't tell you for a hundred dollars if they're gay or straight. Really now!

Probably a bridge too far since the ban on homosexuals marrying their own sex also applies to heterosexuals and the opportunity to marry a member of the opposite sex is also available to homosexuals.
In the Loving decision, the Court concluded that the VA law applied only to marriages involving whites, and since any non-white could marry a non-white from any other race, the law treated one race (whites) differently than other races and therefore violated the Equal Protection clause.
