I bet that comedian and most of the audience went to public schools. They all drove to the show on public roads. They all eat food that doesn't make them sick because of regulations and food inspections. The very stage where he is performing was probably built by people who were educated in public schools. The building has to be up to code to ensure the audience's safety. I could go on, but I just think it is actually funny how the government played such an intricate role in the creation of this anti-government song. The irony is hilarious.

Anyone who is just a bit socialist will agree with you, however, only the government can tax the trees and the sunshine. Only the government can take half our earnings in taxes. Now what do they spend all that money on? Well the Congress persons get paid over $175,000 plus perks. I think that once Obama has made that group unnecessary maybe we could drop their wages about 75% or maybe 100%.
Your continued attempts to call all things paid for by the government socialistic makes me a bit sick, but then . . . . . . . . . .

Yup - but government acts on behalf of you and me. We, in essence, empower them to collect taxes so that they can be allocated for improvements that serve the greater good. Ideally, it's simply a pooling of resources.
Naturally, our representatives have a tendency to be greedy, spent money frivolously, ensure that they are set for life, and occasionally, they like to make sure they can not possibly lose their wonderful standing in life.
You've been around a wile, roy - I am certain you've heard of head taxes:
Government can, indeed, tax just about everything.
I am currently getting taxed for rain water. You see, my property has a certain number of "improvements," that is, impenetrable surfaces such as a roof, a drive way, a shed, etc. Where these impenetrable surfaces are located, rain cannot seep into the ground but, instead, runs off into a creek that runs through my property. Thus, I am forced to pay a "stormwater tax" for all that evil rain that falls onto my property and ends up in the creek to feed the local water reservoir that provides our drinking water. That's right! My city taxes me for providing them with free water for the rest of our citizens. Since we live in a drought area, I would think that they owe me for providing them with water. But no, I get taxed...
