From wiki:
"Gun politics in Switzerland are unique in Europe. Switzerland does not have a standing army, instead opting for a peoples' militia for its national defence. The vast majority of men between the ages of 20 and 30 are conscripted into the militia and undergo military training, including weapons training. The personal weapons of the militia are kept at home as part of the military obligations; Switzerland thus has one of the highest militia gun ownership rates in the world.[1] In recent times political opposition has expressed a desire for tighter gun regulations.[2] A referendum in February 2011 rejected stricter gun control.[3]"

guess you also want to restrict who can vote and who cant, right?

nothing to do with firearms should be restricted at all.

Adds precious seconds to reload. Ask folks in that theater in Colorado what a few more seconds meant to them.

I hunt, I own guns, I shoot for recreation. I don't mind reloading.

nope, but since you say you dont mind limiting one right, figured you probably want to limit other rights too.

Who are these wise lawmakers who know how many rounds a magazine should hold or what a mini gun is and can be trusted not to eventually ban more and more as they see fit until we cant purchase any?

p.s. the component that holds the bullets is called a magazine, not a clip.

I never read the right to bear fully automatic 50 cal rifles. I read the right to bear arms, but when that was written it was inferring to single shot long rifles.

I did not say we should restrict laws more then they are now on guns. I think semiautomatic being legal is fine. What I did say is that we need to restrict magazine size, because the gun enthusiast doesn't mind reloading. Mass shooters do.

I get to use three with a plug during deer season, and a shocking five without during dove season.

Its been that way since I started hunting. Sounds about right to me.

But, this is why you have debate.

PS, I think most people know what I mean by clip.

so what?
I like to target practice and fifteen in the magazine saves me time.
Our conversation has nothing to do with passing laws that restrict the freedoms of others.

Sure most know what you mean, but they are ignorant and seek to ban that which they do not understand.

really? well, that also means that computers, modern newspapers, tv and the like were not meant for free speech either.

also, I do know someone with a muzzle loaded cannon, and he can hit way more than 1 target with 1 shot of grapeshot.

please read the 2nd Amendment again too. any limits being placed there are for the federal goverment to follow, not the people.
