No you don't. And it ain't my belief, just addressing the OP (and the assumptions). If you feel the need to address my post, tell me where you agree or disagree?

But then, you might be yet another republican agreeing with the previous two I just pointed at. Did I get that right?

Now if you tax him at 39%
250000 x .39 he pays 97500 in taxes and keeps 152000
letssay he makes 260000x.39 he woudl get taxed 101400 and take home 158000.
So he would do better to make one dollar less than 250000 and keep more money then making 260000 more and take home less money.
Does not make much sense for those small business peopel who are on the border line
That's incorrect.

You have about 40 posts that show up with a discussion on 250K. Did you not know until now that it is a number long used for cut off? Be my guest if you want to use a different number, however. The argument wouldn't change.

Default Fair tax.

Apply a flat tax sufficient to operate the government to all income from all sources over the 90th percentile. let the 10% that own the country pay for their country. The rest of us will have a lot more money to invest or spend to make the owner's more money.

Yes.

The rich benefit most from the protections of the government and so bear a larger responsibility in paying for those protections.

I know the number quite well, I wanted to see if you could state where the 250K came from, but instead you parrot a line and don't answer.

I simply don't believe taking from one group to help pay for others is the right way. I could live with the current progressive system if the libs would quit trying to take more money from thos who give the most.

I would prefer for tax rates going up for everyone (instead of the top 2%, who already pay a disproportional amount), or for a temp measure to maintain rates for 6 mo to work on a rework of the tax code, or possibly eliminating/capping deductions for higher earners...but find it ridiculous that people crying for higher taxes are not doing anything to confront the problem, the largest cost drivers...the entitlement programs. The amount of revenue that would be gained from soaking the welathy is small...

I don't for one believe getting a tax rate increase first, and then negotiating for cuts is the way to go, as that has never worked, ever.....so I am looking forward to going over the cliff..

If I am in the % you are talking about, how do I benefit more? How much more do I benefit? Do I get more police protection? More miliatry protection? A better road to drive on?

It comes from being in the top 5%. Now you know why you have engaged in a conversation containing the numbers over 40 times over a period here at C-D.

There is only one solution to the problem: find a place outside a society. Exchange is bound to happen within on.
