In 2008, I'd just lost a job and had to move up to Seattle to live with family because I went flat broke. Had to sell off a lot of my stuff, nearly lost my car a few times... had finally found work as a hospice counsellor at a hospital in Seattle when Obama was elected (I celebrated his victory while working the graveyard shift among a bunch of beeping machines on a floor full of people who were dying).
The economy improved enough for me to get back down to CA and find work. I worked and lived in SF for awhile and got a really amazing opportunity down in BH that I took, and things are pretty damn good. I'm making a good income, am around a lot of my friends, eat great food, have enough time and resources to live life as I enjoy it... so yeah, things are good.
The way I see it, it doesn't matter. Blacks often have higher poverty rates and unemployment rates no matter who is president. For my father, in the Obama administration, he has a job and he is doing fine. As for my, I live with my parents and I'm trying to find a job. I had long stretches of unemployment under the Bush administration. For me, it doesn't really matter. I have no animosity towards the President. I have no hatred for him. The best that my life was in terms of quality was between August 2009-May 2010, and then from August 2010-May 2012. Now I'm struggling to find a job. I know alot of people who are able to find jobs, but nothing has helped me get a job since my college graduation.
What a ridiculous question. That's like asking, if the lives of white people improved with Bush, Clinton, and going all the way back to Monroe. Certainly, there were presidents like Andrew Jackson who clearly benefited whites more than others, but such were the sign of the times. Many whites believe Trump will improve their lives...to their chagrin!

It is ridiculous. And since my last post, my life has gotten much better. I have work and the pay is good.
This thread shows once again that there is a high obsession regarding who Blacks vote for. This is my opinion. I don't think this is really about "making sure Blacks do better". This is really "it is my business how you vote".
Nah. My life is now twice as miserable as it was in 2008 and it's all Obama's fault. He did this to me.
LOL!
FWIW on the last post I made about how I made more money in 2012 versus 2008, I made about $25k more back then, now I make about $38k more than I made in 2008 lol. I guess I can "blame" Obama
Gas is about $1.99 a gallon where I live too so I'm saving money. I have bought 2 more pieces of property since 2012 thanks to the tanking real estate market, people can let me know whether I should "blame" Bush or Obama for that one, or Clinton, whoever, thanks! I'm doing much better today.

You're in better shape than me. I'm not a property owner. Yet. The market bounced back by the time I got into a decent position. That said, gas prices are varying, but it's livable. 2015-now has been the best I've seen my life. Full time work, good work too.
