What I'm sure of is that the right wingers will be duly harrumphing and sending their checks back out of principle.

Much of those savings — an estimated $1.1 billion — came in rebates to consumers required because insurers had exceeded the required limits.

The study by the New York-based Commonwealth Fund also suggests that the Affordable Care Act forced insurers to become more efficient by limiting their administrative expenses, a key goal of the 2010 law.

In some cases, insurers passed savings on to consumers in the form of lower premiums and higher spending on medical care, the researchers found. This was primarily true in the individual market, where consumers buy health insurance on their own.

The rules "appear to be producing important consumer benefits," concluded the report's authors, Michael McCue, a professor of health administration at Virginia Commonwealth University, and Mark Hall, a healthcare law professor at Wake Forest University.

Administrative costs in the individual market dropped in 39 states, with major improvements in Delaware, Ohio, Louisiana, South Carolina and New York.

And insurers in 37 states spent relatively more of their customers' premiums on medical care, with big gains in New Mexico, Missouri, West Virginia, Texas and South Carolina.
I'm sorry. I must have been living in another world. My premium just gone up. How does it save me money?

Last I read, companies are laying off people to fill in the game of this increase cost for the new ObamaCare regulation. Those who used to have full time (40 hours) are having hours cut because under ObamaCare care, "full time" mean 30 hours or more. So many with 40 hours will go in the 20s.

Great jobs.

I like the Republicon job-terminators who refuse high speed rail jobs and funding. Morons.

This massive program will be bound to have some major glitches. Give it a few more years.

It's "happy" news so rejoice that Obamacare is working so well and that millions of people received rebate checks.
Believe the article for its face value.

My wallet is still empty and my premium went up.
So I wasn't part of those lucky millions that got checks and lowered premiums.

Oh., I'm enjoying the greedheads being brought to heel. Id really like to get them into a cancer treatment program and then send them a letter saying their treatment was not approved. See how they like it. Course, have to freeze their accounts so they can't access their millions.
