What a shocker. Who is obstructing the presidents plan? Idiots.

"McConnell said he wasn’t surprised Democrats didn’t want to vote on Obama’s plan, which he said raises taxes on small businesses.“Not a single Senate Democrat has stepped forward to support it, and if you look at it you can see why,” McConnell said. “It increases taxes.”
Obama’s plan, released last week, calls for $1.6 trillion in tax increases and $400 billion in cuts to entitlement programs, plus a new $50 billion stimulus plan. Democrats want to raise taxes on those making more than $250,000 a year. The plan would also allow the president to raise the debt ceiling without action from Congress, something lawmakers heavily oppose.
McConnell added that he'd be happy to have a stand-alone vote on the president's plan rather than attaching it to legislation as an amendment."

WHAT ?

The GOP said Boehner didn't present his plan.
And the Senate doesn't like Obama's plan.

So does this mean that Boehner and Obama are working alone, just the two of them on this ?

What a farce. It should be Boehner and Reid and include the rest of Congress.
Not two men meeting every so often and sending memos between them.

This entire thing is a farce. Just like the last one. All that is needed is an all pro field goal kicker to boot this thing down the road as far as possible and both sides will be happy. That is what it's all about oh and making it appear they both won. We the people of course lose.

I really have to laugh. Reid blocks yet again. Do you realize that every time Reid blocks something it's because the Senate is "working on a jobs bill" ? ROFL.

A Russian trade bill for American jobs is more important than the President's plan to avert 1/1 cuts ?

What is Reid afraid of here ? If the Dems are truly behind Obama's plan, which I thought they were, then a vote would prove it.

Did it include an extension of Federal Unemployment? Apparently, this is becoming a non-negotiable.

Why would you vote on a plan that is not agreed to when your still in talks. The plan is not really every specific anyway ;its just general on both sides.

Basically the "plan" they are pushing is all horsesheet. That is why they put it up for vote and Reed blocked it. Kinda like when all the dems voted against Obama's own budget plan.

Why should the Senate waste its time when the House is sure to reject the plan?

Why won't the senate vote on the plan that they and Obama have been selling to the people?
