Let's face the reality of the Oscars. It's an award presented by liberal Hollywood to liberal Hollywood. It's no less hypocritical than a $10M per movie star throwing a party for other self-idolizing stars, calling it a fund raiser, and raising $100k for the "little people" I'd have more respect if they'd just write a check for $1m, without patting themselves on the backs for doing so.
The Oscars haven't had much relevance for decades, so who really cares?
One of the prerequisites to getting an Oscar nomination is that the product can't be crap. That 2016 propaganda was crap multiplied by 10... It was meant to reinforce already held beliefs and give conservatives a hard-on...
Yeah, like anyone thinks that piece of trash is Oscar worthy in any sense. I suppose neo-cons think "Atlas Shrugged 2" and "The Undefeated" should have won Oscars too.
Well, gee, Gore's Inconvenient Truth actually did win an Oscar and then was proven to be false.

Seems like millions thought it wasn't crap.
Not the same can be said for others in the same category.
The truth always hurts thats why we choose to downplay it.
Perhaps you are not qualified to give an unbiased analysis of this film.
The film is a documentary to presents facts and then attempts to draw conclusions from them. We can not know if they are right or not. It's simply political theory, if you agree that's great! That has nothing to do with whether or not this movie is Oscar worthy.
Upon what merits do you find this film worthy of consideration by the Academy?
I'm trying to help you out here. Perhaps this movie was snubbed because the Academy does not agree with the views presented.
Every one of the documentaries likely has and agenda and is presenting a point of view, whether or not this view is fact, is completely subjective, unless of course it is a documentary on the breeding habits of kreel or something along those lines.
One problem I see being about half way into the film right now, is that most of it is re-enactments and interviews with people that really have no relationship to the President. They are simply giving an opinion. I'm not really sure it is in fact a documentary piece. It's a guilt by association piece.
The authors assertation that Pres. Obama is anti-colonial and this can be shown in his foreign policy is interesting and strays from the conspiracy theory type shockumentaries that are present in other films. I think this movie is intelligently made.
It would not be shocking that this film could have been snubbed for being against the liberal views of Hollywood.
What merits this film to be considered by the Academy in your opinion? Not a tough question.

Millions enjoyed this film.
Most people were in direct relation to him & have known him. Some were things he has written. You don't call that facts?
The reason it did not get a nod is the same reason none of you can make an unbiased assessment of the film.
This movie had too many actors to be considered a real documentary though. Sorry but it's true. Try to be more objective people.
America is great, God is good. Amen
