I was listening to Michael Savage yesterday on the radio and he brought this up. He was very adamant about President Obama spending in his first term more money than all the presidents combined since George Washington was president. If this is true it is simply astonishing. But does anyone have any facts to this accusation?

Obama has spent $6.5 trillion. The debt when he took office was $10.1 trillion.

Obama has added more debt than any previous US president. However, one can see that his total debt is not equal to all previous US presidents combined. That number, of course, will be eclipsed by the end of his second term, conferring upon Obama the title of most fiscally irresponsible president in US history.

It is funny, as we are getting a glimpse of what Jimmy Cater's second term would have looked like. Isn't it exciting? Obama will have effectively killed the USA by a burden of debt which cannot be overcome, resulting in the "Balkanization" of the US. George Soros, Russia, and China will be thrilled.

When the US disintegrates, new nations will form in its ashes- a couple conservative, a couple not conservative. Won't it be interesting to see which nations support more individual liberty and deliver more prosperity to its citizens? One could not ask for a better political "experiment".

I say support EVERYTHING that Obama wants and finish off the US. Let's get it over quickly.

Listening to Michael Savage was your first mistake. The claim is untrue.

The claim would be true about Bush. He did spend as much as all presidents before him combined, and Ronald Reagan has outdone Bush. Reagan spent THREE TIMES as much as all presidents before him combined. In order for Obama to break that record, he would have to leave the office with 33 trillion debt, which is not going to happen considering the fact that he is already half way through his time in office.

No, he does not. Bills enacted by Congress become law automatically after 10 calendar days (excluding Sundays) while Congress is in session. See Article I, Section 7, Clause 2 of the US Constitution.
