OP - did your State even request aid? Given all the rest of the Federal Money you guys get I would be surprised if you did not.

FWIW - the Obama administration confirmed aid to Ohama yesterday afternoon.

Despite our bickering let us share a moment for the victims of this tragedy.

Then comes the General Election. The northeastern States vote for Obama, and Alaska votes for Romney. Guess which State is not getting a single penny from FEMA?

This is precisely what we can expect from a petulant and immature socialist President.

Socialism is an economic system characterised by social ownership of the means of production.
(Obama is not a socialist.)

And do you have any evidence that Obama stopped FEMA funding to Alaska ??

Also you sound like a republican, and republicans want small government, government out of our lives, no welfare, and no government assistance for people.

If you truly followed republican philosophies, you would (not) want the federal government giving money to Alaska.

Without Fema, San Francisco was rebuilt in less than a year after the earthquake & fires.
Without Fema, Galveston was rebuilt in less than a year and a massive seawall was built to help after the massive Hurricane.

With Fema, There are still places in Biloxi Miss, from Hurricane Camile a long time ago, not rebuilt.
With Fema, Homestead Florida still shows the effects of the Hurricane that ripped them up.
With Fema, The earthquake in Northrop CA, there is still a lot to do.
Fema, is still going on Katrina, IKE and the one that just destroyed Galveston's outer shell.
Look at NJ and Hurricane Sandy. It has been a boondoggle cluster fu*k.

Fema just gets in the way of State and local communities fast responses, slowing the recovery down to a snails pace.

Hurricane Camille was in 1969...FEMA was formed some 10 years later.

Do you want FEMA to go back and fund the 1906 San Fransico earthquake or the 1871 Chicago Fire???

Except that the federal government did contribute and used the Navy to assist.

But the whole bankrupt idea that the federal government hinders and not helps is undercut by how states request assistance.

This bunch believes the government can do nothing right except concoct elaborate schemes to control the RWNJ population. Please pick one guys. Government can or cannot do complicated things?

FEMA was created to provide aid for places too poor to afford insurance or for events so large they would force insurance companies to borrow money to meet the claims. In reality FEMA insures the insurance companies not the victims of the tragedy.

The above is what liberals really think. This shows that they are actually fascists at heart, who have no regard for the uniform recognition of liberty and the rule of law for all citizens.

The shocking thing is that liberals do not realize the devience of their views. These sentiments, of course, have been held dear by every totaltiarian regime in the 20th century. Libs would love nothing better than to apply the jackboots to the back of the neck of every conservative in America- that is the liberal version of "tolerance".

Well looky looky--the FEMA trucks are rolling into Oklahoma as we speak. Did they vote for Obama? I don't think so. This is a ridiculous thread.

Yes, but the neo-cons rave against a fake Faux News generated version of Obama, so any excuse to get themselves riled up is one they relish.

So again your thread title is a lie.
New to this thread, but , in a nut shell I could not agree more about the lie being spread, using CD as a carrier. This poster is of the worst kind, making political hay from the misfortunes of others, and perpetrating a falsehood.
