The State Exchanges were a critical building block of ACA, but the Federal Government, in typical fashion, has not provided the states with cost information (who would trust it anyhow?) or other information that would be needed before a state could decide what would be best for the state.

The estimated cost of AFA keeps climbing, and has skyrocketed far beyond what the administration has said it would cost, prior to passing the ill conceived bill, which was originated in the Senate by fraudulent use of a Constitutional provision which allows the Senate to amend a spending bill (which can only originate in the House).

This, coupled with the burdensome taxes required to sustain it, which are forcing businesses to downsize, lay off workers, or decrease employee hours to under 30 hours per week, which will surely result in a weaker economy and low GDP, may prove it to be unworkable.

Well, we can hope.
Yes, it will fail, by design, and then be replaced (by design) with single payer and then we will all be slaves to the NHS (USA)

This whole thing is so disasterous for our country, and for what has been up to now the best health care system in the world.

Yes -- for sure those over age 60 will see a decrease in health care under Obama -- Obama has came right out and discussed the "independent commissions" which is his term for death panels who will decide if someone over 60 can be given health care or sent home with lots of pain killers that will do the trick. And it's that age group that might actually need health care.

The government will decide. The government consists of politicians for the most part and political expediency will be the main driver behind who is given health care.

Free vaccines for all will buy a politician a lot of votes. Cancer treatment for a rare kind of cancer won't buy many votes so those people will face the death panel and of course be turned down.

And yes, the replacement of good qualified physicians with cheaper and more government-submissive alternatives will end up harming a whole lot of people. The doctors are already working more and more under some clerical person with a GED or high school diploma who is telling them what the government will and will not pay for and so what they can and cannot order. Very intelligent physicians will not stay in this environment. Soon you'd be better off asking your dog's veterinarian for medical opinions and medical tests.

We will see a lessened lifespan because of the government takeover of healthcare.

The high risk pools went through 4 years of money in 2 years.
These high risk folks go into Obamacare in 2014 with the other millions.

If you think our deficit spending is bad now, just wait.

The federal government is so inept, incompetent, bloated and full of itself, that I am going to LOVE watching them attempt to set these state exchanges up. It's going to be hilarious. They might as well give the contract to Walmart because the government cannot handle anything that complicated. It's going to be the biggest schmazel *ever*. LOL

I think there are a number of states that have said they will not setup excnages;not just new jeresey. Also the recent court ruling that says that the federal government cannot withhold medicaid to states because they do not change laws or expand spending on medicaid. That emans funding likely to be a issue starting 2017 let alone the states not setting up pools or manging them.

Well, surely as long as Americans have enough money to pay for their medical care, they will have access to it whenever it's needed.
