Why am I not surprised, thieves as well as pedophiles.....

It seems the TSA has a problem with sticky-fingered agents who like to swipe Apple products, particularly iPads. Case in point: An agent at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport is the latest to be charged with stealing travelers’ iPads. It’s but one example of iPad pilferage by some of our nation’s “security” officials.
TSA baggage screener Sean Henry reportedly was caught leaving the airport with two iPads after a joint TSA and Port Authority sting, according to ABC News. Officials used the iPad’s own GPS tracking mechanism to keep tabs on the tablet and pinpoint the thief.
If these TSA agents are so likely to steal, really, how difficult would to be to bribe one, for say $10,000 to just "look the other way" for a few minutes?
I would hate to disparage the good name of the thousands of presumably honest, hard-working TSA agents, but the contrast between the general level of workers I've dealt with here in the States vs. their counterparts in some other parts of the world is staggering. I remember flying through Germany after the no liquids policy was instated and there were agents directing us to the proper lines and quickly guiding us through the scanners in several languages. Of course Germany is a paragon of efficiency, but many times flying out of the States I've felt that some of the agents didn't even have the people skills or common sense of the people who had just sold me my coffee and bagel. And unless you're hiring from a pool of well-trained, well-screened applicants who are held to very high standards (and paid accordingly), I suspect you're going to have a higher risk for these types of incidents.
My wife's iPhone "fell out of her bag" at a TSA checkpoint, never to be seen again.
