And I feel no pity for those 99%ers who whine about other people paying more taxes while they themselves enjoy those very same benefits while paying less taxes. That's called selfishness.

None.

To simply connect charitable donations to whether your choice won or lost discredits every so called charitable thing one has ever done in their life.

I'm sure it's been said, but why not advise him to get one of those 5 million jobs Obama is claiming that he made? There should be tons of shovel ready jobs and plenty of optimism about the economy.

I do occasionally help the homeless out. We live an a area in AZ that can get a bit cold. We shop at Safeway, and today was a perfect example. Husband was returning the cart to the corral, no more the 20 feet away from our car and he asked my husband for money to return the cart for my husband. Husband said nicely, I don't have any cash.

Same day, I saw three homeless people around 40 feet from Safeway. They all had dogs, pit mixes, and a mutt that I have no idea what it was. I show agility dogs, when it gets chilly outside they're are blanketed while outside. Theses blankets are water proof, with a flees liner. I purchase 10 a year, the blankets last for at least 4 years. I approached the homeless guys and offered them each a blanket for their dogs, I keep the spares in my car. They were very grateful. They did ask me if I could buy dry dog food for them, a thirty pound bag as they were low on food. No problem I ran back in the store and bought the food. Bottom line is I choose who to help and those I choose not to. My husband thought I was nuts, but I know tonight those dogs are warm and fed. I hope the same for the owners. I also gave them information on the closest shelter that serves warm food. Bottom line is, I wasn't forced to do this, I did it because I wanted to. I'm a conservative, and so is my Husband.

Alas, when I still lived in NYC, the "world's mayor," good ole' Rudy had an effective way to deal with bums: If they refused to sleep in shelters, they'd go to jail. That, apparently, got them off the street.

Homelessness disappeared, there were no more beggars at ANY street corner, fresh air wafted through the subway stations that were no longer used as toilets. As a result of no longer having to dole out the occasional dollar or quarter, my personal situation improved tremendously. I was finally able to afford an extra banana. Ah, good times.

If only my local municipality could make it illegal to be poor. Life would be so much better.

Obviously, the whole thing is an outrage. We all know that there were no poor people or homeless before Obama got into office. Perhaps if the Obamas had only opted for 53 Christmas trees, yet another family could have been kept off the streets.
OMG atlas shrugged again.

If they were really homeless, your hope for the owners is probably fulfilled.
You think the dogs got to use the blankets??

Those panhandling, don't even know who the President is. It is not on their priority list.
They know who George Washington and Abraham Lincoln are. They are money.
