I stand corrected. The GOP did indeed filibuster a single presidential appointment, and it is indeed unconstitutional. Filibusters are only intended to prevent the end of a debate by preventing a cloture vote from being taken. The Senate cannot filibuster treaties, ambassadors, judges, or cabinet appointments.
You should send that message to McCain because he is more than happy to use a filibuster to stop and appointment of a cabinet appointment.

Is Sen. John McCain
This is fun, showing you what the GOP like to use the filibuster for, shall I find more for you?

Nah - let's keep talking about throat-cramming and see if we can get this merged with Mr.XXX's Homosexual thread.

Of that, I am very aware. McCain was with the gang of fourteen (thirteen other Democrats) that filibustered Bush 43's presidential appointments. I singled him out in a prior post.

All you have shown is one filibuster of a presidential appointee by the GOP. As far as I am concerned, the GOP should filibuster every piece of legislation introduced by a Democrat. I do not care if is it a Resolution to have a National Flatulence Awareness Week, it should be filibustered.

Isn't that McConnell's SOP now?

Oh I just started, more about judicial appointments that you say is Reid's fault.

The GOP hard at work with your tax dollars stalling the appointment of judges, good job GOP.

But don't you worry, their filibuster days will be coming to an end hopefully, and then the GOP will be forced to actually have to work.

The gang of 14 were the ones that came to an agreement to stop the filibuster of the appointees, as well as other legislation, and it was 7 Democrats and 7 Republicans

Hey look, I found an identical story of the GOP blocking the appointment of judges, I actually had to check to make sure it wasn't the same article I already posted.
Quote:
Senate Democrats failed Monday evening in an effort to end a filibuster on the nomination of Magistrate Judge Robert Bacharach to a seat on the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. With 60 votes needed to break the filibuster by Republican members, the Democrats failed by 4 votes. All 51 Democrats present voted to end the roadblock to the Oklahoma judge’s elevation.

The GOP have been filibustering judges like they were going out of style.

Do not hold your breath. Under the current Democrat rules, the GOP can filibuster any rule change. So unless you can get every Democrat and at least five more Republicans to override the filibuster, the rule change will never happen. In addition, there are only two times during a session in which a rule change can be made.
