I don't see why the misconception or semantics are any more important than the bigger picture.

Nope. But, dictatorships arise when democracy ceases to exist.

And people tend to have no issues chipping in when they are surrounded by people who are, relatively, culturally compatible. The diversity issue is a very large one, not a trivial one.

In addition, Swedes and Danes (and their likes) were all born into their current culture... You'd have to go back 200 years to point to a revolution in those countries. Germany is an exception...but Germany is another discussion unto itself.
Sweden has had a great influx of people from the Middle East in the last few years, for better or worse. Talk about a totally different culture!

My aunt teaches "Swedish as a second language" to these immigrants.

Not really. Chaos is the necessary ingredient which can happen by destabilizing a democracy, weak democratic government, or none at all, is the best bet.

No. Only natural born U.S. citizens are eligible. Naturalized U.S. citizens are not eligible.

You can criticize that president all you want without having to worry about going to jail for it.
That, among other things, is democracy.
Why is it so hard for you to understand that?
That's an example of a constitutional right specifically granted in a constitution-based federal republic. The U.S. is a constitution-based federal republic. That is a fact. Look it up.

Not from your Aunt, of course... Generally speaking.

So far things have been pretty peaceful. Most of these immigrants are escaping from their unstable countries. They do struggle with low earnings and high unemployment, for many reasons.

Of course, there are some that are unhappy with how Sweden is changing.

This assumes, any republic with a constitution is identical in governance to the USA. Which is a poor assumption to make.

A republic is nothing but representatives to run the government either selected or elected (via a prescribed framework in a Constitution). In the US, however, it isn't selection but election by the people (hence democratic republic).
