Looks like Matt Drudge is making a statement on the N word used in the new Jamie Foxx movie. Do you think he is being racist for saying it on his website?
No, it's not racist to use the word. In fact many of Drudge's fans probably love that word.
Rest assured the word is in fact much more commonly used on the left side of the aisle than on the right. Oprah Winfrey at one time said that she opposed the use of the word by anyone, including blacks, but she later changed her mind after a rapper, who was a guest on her show, persuaded her that it was ok. IIRC the rapper was Jay Z, pal and fundraiser to Pres. Obama.
By contrast I've never run across any conservatives who tolerate the use of the word. Probably they are out there, but they're uncommon.
I think that word is offensive no matter who uses it. Even when said by Black people to each other I feel it shows a lack of respect for their race. Perhaps if ALL people stop using that word people would begin to understand its not a word that should be used by anybody. That word was used to be hurtful and that can never be changed by using it.
