Not really.

Too much shouting over each other, not enough substantial discussion. There have been a few really good contributions here and there (that I wasn't previously aware of), but for the most part, it has been what I expected it to be.

I have learned a lot from other forums on CD, however.

Before "Religion & Philosophy" and perhaps before that when "Immigration," too, was under P&oC, a similar question came up.

My answer then, and my answer now is the same: Yes.

I travel in a wide-circle, and have also travelled in the literal sense broadly, but somehow I must have attracted like-minded folks. Posters here are from places I may have been, but didn't meet, and share thinking way outside of my box. So, although I haven't changed my own POV, I have learned a great deal about how other people think that I wouldn't generally meet or discuss P&oC.

I have certainly learned a few things, as just looking up information and reading leads to new roads yet uncharted, but the level of discourse is about as expected. Because of the every growing learning experience, I would say my POV is and always has been evolving since I could walk but I have noted a slowing, setting of ways and they years grind on.

It is a like an old fashioned radio - there is a signal, but there is a lot of static.

I have learned that at their hearts people are way more partisan than I could have imagined. People don't show it in real life, but they show it here.

Have learned that substantiating what is said in the forums is vital to good communication. References, snopes.. all important!

i don't think that's so. i think that most of us here are just more passionate about our polotics thats why we're on a political forum. i think most people don't care much outside of election season.
