Most social conservatives do. They're in love with the past as they imagine it - and it's a past that never really existed.

Show a published, peer reviewed study by one of your Dr. priests.

BTW a doctorate in the medical field of study that relates to the research is helpful.

How will my marriage effect you? Directly.

How will my marriage change the meaning of your marriage?

Go to www.catholic.com or to the link I posted and see if you can ask questions.
Expert? LOL!

You're hilarious.

No gay gene has been found YET. The genome is still largely undiscovered territory, and new and surprising things in it are being found every day. The human brain especially is still largely a bunch of unknowns.

It's the brain, not hormones, where homosexuality is defined.

Even funnier.

Only someone who is profoundly ignorant on this topic would use the strawman term "the gay gene".

Human sexuality is far too complex for just one gene.

I've posted links to research over and over again in threads that you post in. Clearly you prefer to remain ignorant and stick with your long discredited non-evidence based anti-gay religious propaganda.

However, here is a link to my blog where I've posted most of those links:

Well, actually - the meaning of marriage has been changing in much more profound ways over the last century or so.

It's not that long ago that spousal rape simply wasn't a thing - if the man and woman was married, he could force himself on her, never mind what she wanted, and the law would of course back him. That was changed.

The idea that a married woman could make decisions on her own or - ludicrously - on behalf of the couple is only a few decades old, as well. What, a woman opening a checking account without her husband's signature? Inconceivable. Well, that too has changed.

In the real 1950s (not the 1950s the conservatives long for, they never existed), the wife was ranked somewhere between the husband and the children - not a child, but clearly not a full adult either. Women, of course, were under considerable social pressure to marry, even so - an unwed woman on her own was clearly of loose morals, unemployable, not to be associated with.

The idea of a marriage being between equal partners is a much more profound change to the institution, and it has nothing to do with gays.

(Of course, there's the entire mixed-race marriage deal - that, too, was decried as changing the meaning of marriage. And rightfully so, centuries of tradition was conscribed to history's dustheap.)

I don't care about gay marriage becasue I'm not gay. Unless you can show me a reason to NOT let people get married I'm going to go ahead and keep not caring and say they should, why not. WHY NOT? In most cases, when it comes to legal rights especially, start with the positive and the affirmative, prove the need for the negative. Don't try to prove "what always has been is best" because you start out in a bad place and it only gets worse from there.

I think a few examples would be in order. Preferably ones where there's some sort of arguable cause-and-effect.
