Mitt Romney banned assault weapons in Massachusetts. And in 2002, he said he was "no friend to the NRA."

No, we do not need Romney-style gun control where law abiding citizend are denied their constitutional rights.

It was very peculiar that the 2012 GOP candidate for president was MORE anti-gun than the liberal Democratic candidate, that's for sure!

And it was quite telling to see the conservatives rally around him. It proves people are not interested in issues, they are only interested in seeing a republican in the WH, no matter if his views are the exact opposite of what what they have been selling as conservative "core values".

Not true.

Have you ever looked at Obama's voting record on gun related bills? Didn't think so. Blind faith has a way of generating ignorance.

I don't think I've ever seen people so obsessed with a defeated presidential candidate before in my life.

If you are going ask a question, you have to know something about the subject.

Tell us YOUR definition of an "assault weapon". It makes a real big difference in the answer.

The Democratic candidate is VERY anti-gun. However as a political strategy, he chose to avoid the issue as much as possible. He said he defends the right of people to own guns. But do not be fooled. He simply wanted every vote he could get. There are many (millions) Democrats who own guns.

You know, except the shooter used handguns.

"Assault Weapons" are a misnomer. They are just semi-automatic weapons with some "scary" looking ergonomics on them (collapsible stock, etc). An AR-15 is functionally the same any Ruger Semi-Auto Hunting Rifle.

"Class 3 (read: Fully automatic) Assault Rifles" are heavily regulated by the ATF which is why you hardly sea civies carry out massacres with them.
