BEIJING – A knife-wielding man injured 22 children and one adult outside a primary school in central China as students were arriving for morning classes Friday, police said, the latest in a series of periodic rampage attacks at schools and kindergartens.

The attack in the Henan province village of Chengping happened shortly before 8 a.m., said a police officer from Guangshan county, where the village is located.

The attacker, 36-year-old villager Min Yingjun, is now in police custody, said the officer, who declined to give her name, as is customary among Chinese civil servants.

Notice that you said INJURED not dead. That the difference in the lethality of gun versus a knife it's simply far easier to kill people with guns than it is with an knife and with a gun it's far easier to kill more people rapidly especially if the gun or rifle uses in a semiautomatic weapon.

That's why guns are considered cool, and knives not as much. Guns rock. Guns make you feel tough. Guns are status symbols to show off to your friends. Guns solve problems. Guns let you say "I'd take that guy out if he tried to attack me" so people will think you're a bad ass.

Am I right, or am I right?

This is a sick country.

If guns and knives are the same thing, I suggest we help cut the defense budget by doing away with guns in the military and simply arming our soldiers with much cheaper knives.

What a bizarre non sequitur.

Keep trying, though. You can always go down to the basement and fondle your guns to make yourself feel better.

This thread is probably one of the best arguments for gun laws.

Not sure if the OP had intended that

If it has nothing to do with guns, then please come to my thread and explain why this chart looks the way it does. I welcome your explanations.

Huh? I was pointing out the absurdity of the inherent argument in the OP by extending it to a different situation.

And what in God's name did you mean about me fondling my guns in the basement?

Blah, blah,blah. Whatever.

BAN GUNS NOW!! BAN GUNS NOW!! BAN GUNS NOW!!!

Americans have proven over and over again
that they are far too immature and irresponsible to be allowed to have guns. We need
sweeping gun control legislation NOW--TODAY--not tomorrow!! Demand nothing less than
TOTAL GUN CONTROL.

Goes to show you, knives don't kill people, they injure them, guns on the other hand.
Guns don't kill people either! Someone needs to pull the tricker...
