You have watched too many old, bad movies These days wars between civilized countries are increasingly of a virtual and economic nature. Not even China has an interest in US territory. They could simply grab neighboring Russia if they wanted to, would be much more lucrative.

Since this was obviously a knee-jerk reaction to the CT shooting:

The shooter used a semi-automatic .223 rifle and two handguns. Automatic weapons are NOT the issue in this country. It's already illegal to own one without going through a rigorous application process, and I think there have only been a couple of crimes committed by legal owners of Class 3 firearms. Even most gangbangers stick to handguns and semi-auto rifles and shotguns.

Your Second Amendment rights at work! Elementary school children slaughtered... what are the people at the NRA telling themselves right now? “It’s OK—the next mass shooting won’t be nearly this bad.†We can shrug our shoulders and say this is just the way things are going to be from now on, or we can finally get serious about our culture of guns and violence and tell the NRA we’ve had enough.

Yesterday the Michigan state house passed a bill that allows people to carry guns in schools and daycare centers. It’s nice to know Michigan Republicans don’t just want to endanger union jobs. They also want to endanger children. They passed the bill allowing guns in schools the day before today’s tragic shooting at a school in Connecticut. Of course, nowadays any day can be the day of a tragic shooting somewhere in America.

clean up goverment and politicians 1st. I will say this much, if goverment bans certain types of firearms just because of how many rounds they hold or how they look, the culture war will be so bad that politicians will not care how many people die from the aftermath of making another bad law.

They should go house to house and collect every damn gun in the country after this.
How about instead of "they" we send YOU???

Could doing the same with firearms make an impact on public safety? Let's explore the issue."
We do. It's called a background check.

Do you have any idea how hard it is and the cost, to get a permit to own an automatic weapon?
