I love how all of these gun grabbing liberals think they know what the Founding Fathers meant when they talked about citizens rights to be armed. It should be perfectly clear what the meant. of course they are going to put their idiotic spin on it like they do with everything else.
AAAh they said this but......they really mean this.
As far as I'm concerned any gun that holds more than one round is not covered by the 2nd amendment. Ammunition isn't either. So ban all guns that hold more than one round and ban all ammunition. In the 1700's people used ball and black powder. Not such a thing as the steel jacket round.
I say we really go back to the letter of the law.
Ok, let me see if I understand correctly. Liberals are always telling us that the Constitution is a "living document" that was intended to grow and change with time (ie. gay marriage, etc), but yet when technology evolves to cover today's efficient weapon systems, the Constitution is no longer a "living document" desiged to change with time??
Plus guns are actually designed for many different uses, often other than 'to kill.' A Hammerli .22 is designed for punching holes in paper targets. A typical police sidearm is really designed with quick incapacitation in mind. Suppose a particular gun/ammo combination incapacites the bad guy right away, but only kills, say 10% of victims with it. Suppose another combo takes 10 minutes to incapacitate, but eventually kills the victim 100% of the time. I can guarantee that the police are going to choose the former over the latter. So in fact the critical design criterion here is not 'to kill,' rather it is 'to incapacitate.'
This is one of those memes that might sound great at first blush, but if you think closely about it, it's more or less gibberish.
