What is the deal with these catholic priests?
The Vatican said Saturday it has suspended a monsignor from a senior post at the Holy See after an Italian TV program using a hidden camera recorded him making advances to a young man and asserting that gay sex was not sinful.

Abuse of power is always a bigger sin, and occasionally homosexually is thrown in the mix. If it was an older man & a teenage girl it would be just as wrong.

Funny how you only seem to get the "anti-gay" message from religious institutions.

The Catholic church needs to clean house. They have lost millions on homosexual pedophile priests.

this guy has never been caught doing anything, much less having sex with a minor. he is being punished for being who he IS. nothing wrong with him at all, except his chosen profession and the blatant hypocrisy of the catholic church.

It has not benefited the Catholic Church to have homosexual priests and he should be expelled for who he is. You cannot overlook the damage they have caused to countless children. Obviously the risk is great.

I notice in the news that most gay folks getting caught in illegal acts don't seem to happy with the whole gay thing. That goes for these priests and the catholic hierarchy along with politicians, etc. I think once folks realize they are gay and become happy with that, the silliness stops. There is so much hypocracy in the Catholic church and until that is resolved, incidents like this will continue.

And people criticize the Boy Scouts of America for not allowing favorable circumstances for this to happen?!

I'm still a bit confused.

If you're a pedophile and you like little girls, are you a "heterosexual" pedophile?

Is that why straight men shouldn't be allowed to teach children in schools with boys AND girls? Or do we give pedophiles a special name because they have nothing to do with EITHER their hetero or homo sexual counterparts who like GROWNUPS?

Or is that too difficult or sophisticated of a distinction for some of you to make?
