YES YES YES...of course it is the person holding the gun that is the problem...and not the gun...that is good logic...I fully agree. The problem is that there are too many people with problems and there are too many guns held by those with problems. Guns are not a good problem solving tool.

America and most of the world is ill. People are not happy...people snap....we have to fix the problem...of why so many people are so damned sad that they give up hope and kill.

Clearly, making a thing illegal is the best way to make sure criminals can't get that thing.

Hell, the 18th Amendment's prohibition on alcohol showed us all the truth of that. It's not like an entire illegal industry sprang up to provide alcohol to anyone who wanted it, and leading to the death of thousands of people.
But somehow, banning guns will be different. It WILL work or so they say but can't tell us why.

Interesting. Do you think laws against the private ownership of autommatic weapons, grenades and tanks have been ineffective?

Huh?

I want to quote this by Morgen Freeman because this makes sense to me .. we can NOT ban all the guns and control folks but we can fix some of this issue by following his advice

Quote:
Morgan Freeman's statement about these random shootings....

"You want to know why. This may sound cynical, but here's why.

It's because of the way the media reports it. Flip on the news and watch how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are ho
usehold names, but do you kn
ow the name of a single victim of Columbine? Disturbed people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he'll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody.

CNN's article says that if the body count "holds up", this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer's face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer's identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don't sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.

You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem."
the news has become a mediawhore and we eat it up and follow it to the extreme so what Freeman says makes sense to me .. can we do that and maybe make a diffrence?

I doubt it. Explain how you take the guns away from the criminals.

That's sad, but true.
