Why do Republicans want California to fail so bad? It's the largest economy in the US, if they fail we all go down the crapper. As for benefits for illegal aliens, I thought a lot of Republicans on here were all about states' rights, especially considering that since CA gives more tax dollars than it receives back, then people have no business complaining about what CA does within its borders, considering it's NOT your tax dollars subsidizing illegals in that state, unless you live in state. The official language of the state is English, yes English. I'm sure that's a surprise to many, passed by referendum. Voters also approved making schools teach in English, another proposition that was passed at least 20 years ago. Judging from that, CA's population apparently isn't as stupid as some want to make it out to be. So, can we stop with the hate? It's not CA's fault they have most of the highest paying jobs and the best public university system in the country, and one of the best in the whole world. Ironically, too, for such a nanny state freedom hating state that CA is, or so we are told, their homeschooling laws are much less strict than every single state in the Southeast US that bastion of freedom of the entire country.
California wants California to fail more than Texas does.
If California is failing so bad,
1. Why do people keep moving there, illegal immigrants excepted? Hell, I'd move there.
2. Why hasn't the state crashed and burned yet? The state has high unemployment, but so far from what I've read, is mostly among people with little to no post-secondary education or in a trade that is not in demand (like construction)
